NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Living in Digital Times and Children's Technology Review have once again teamed up to honor the latest innovations in children's technology with an official call for nominations for the Kids@Play Interactive Awards (KAPis). Now in its eighth year, the prestigious awards program honors the digital pioneers and products impacting the kids' tech industry today.

- Interactivity Award (Best Use of Emerging Technology)
- Learning Award (Best School Based Curriculum)
- Best Hardware or Peripheral Device
- Best Content Distribution Platform
- Best Physical/Digital Experience
- Pioneer Award to Person or Team Furthering Digital Kids
- Best "Maker" Spirit Toy or Service
- Most Creative Experience
Nominated products and individuals are evaluated by a diverse expert panel of judges, consisting of respected publishers, editors from different media outlets and analysts who will choose the winners based on old fashioned innovation, craftsmanship and leadership. The judges' feedback combined with web viewership and "likes" will culminate in the selection of the final 10 winners.
Any children's interactive media product, as long as it is sold commercially in the domestic United States and was introduced in 2016, is eligible to enter. These include apps, augmented reality, video games, web delivered content, mobile devices, smart toys, robotics, new combinations of physical/digital play experiences and more. For the Pioneer Award, any team or person who has made a difference in kids' lives by harnessing the power of the latest technology can be nominated.
Winners will be announced on December 27, 2016 and honored at a special awards presentation and cocktail reception at CES® 2017 in Las Vegas, NV. The event takes place following the Kids@Play/Family Tech Summit at 5:30 PM, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Tech West (Venetian, Level 4, Lando 4301).
The KAPi Awards are a culmination of the Kids@Play Summit, a one-day conference and four-day Kids & Technology Marketplace at CES 2017, Tech West, in January.
