AARP Experts Share Insights on Autonomous Vehicles, FinTech, Accessibility Opportunities, Intergenerational Tech and Caregiving Innovations at CES

WASHINGTON, Dec. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- To further the discussion on how technology and innovation impact the lives of people 50-plus, AARP today reveals its lineup of CES presentations addressing relevant trends from autonomous vehicles to intergenerational technology.

AARP's CES 2017 presence includes experts sharing their insights on six conference panels, an exhibit on the Tech West show floor with its 2016 LivePitch winners and a Venetian suite for meetings with other thought leaders to discuss topics including: how the tech industry can help create solutions for the Longevity Economy (people 50-plus). According to AARP's 2016 report, the Longevity Economy includes 111 million 50-plus U.S. consumers who generate $7.6 trillion in economic activity.

With panels ranging from technology tools for retirement to autonomous vehicles aiding in independent living, AARP executives will participate in the following Living in Digital Times and CTA Foundation panels. Full details on all AARP sessions can be found here.

Digital Money Forum: Jeff Makowka, Director, Market Innovation, will moderate a panel on High-Tech Tools Tackle Retirement – how different types of technologies are helping to identify opportunities for saving. AARP Ambassador Jean Chatzky of NBC will join the discussion to be held on Thursday, January 5th at 11:30am, LVCC N259.

CTA Foundation: Terry Bradwell, Chief Enterprise Strategy and Innovation Officer, will join panelists to discuss Why Accessibility Matters to Tech Leaders and how companies—both big and small—are investing in technologies to improve the lives of older adults and those with disabilities. The panel will take place on Thursday, January 5th at 3:30pm, LVCC N261.

Fitness Tech: Andy Miller, SVP Innovation & Product Development, will moderate a panel on Fitness at Any Age – discussing how smart tech, fitness tracking and new sports innovations can increase health benefits at every age. The panel will be held on Thursday, January 5th at 4:30pm, The Venetian, Level 4, Lando 4303. 

CTA Foundation: Jody Holtzman, Senior Vice President, Market Innovation, will join a panel focusing on how Autonomous Vehicles Will Aid Independent Living; enabling easier and safer transportation for everyone, particularly older adults and those with vision loss. The panel will be held on Friday, January 6th at 9:00am, LVCC N258.

Family Tech: Anne Marie Kilgallon, VP Innovation, will lead a discussion on Creating Intergenerational Bonds Through Technology – focusing on the impact of the mobile phone and internet communications on the modern family. The panel will take place on Friday, January 6th at 2:30pm, The Venetian, Level 4, Lando 4301.

Digital Health Summit: Jody Holtzman, Senior Vice President, Market Innovation, will lead a discussion on Caregiving Tech and the tremendous opportunity for innovation in caregiving technology. Holtzman's session will take place Saturday, January 7th at 1:40pm at The Venetian, Level 4, Lando 4303.
