Vox Media and Twitter Announce Live Stream Partnership for CES programs hosted by The Verge

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Verge, the technology and culture brand from Vox Media, and Twitter announced today that they will partner to produce and stream "Vergecast Live at CES 2017", three special live programs produced and hosted by The Verge from the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and live streamed exclusively on Twitter.

The three 90 minute live programs will air January 4th, 5th and 6th, live from CES 2017 C Space at Aria Hotel at 7:30pm EST/4:30pm PST and will be available worldwide to Twitter's logged-in and logged-out audience on Twitter and connected devices.

Vergecast Live at CES 2017 will be hosted by The Verge's Editor-in-Chief Nilay Patel and Executive Editor Dieter Bohn and produced by Vox Media's head of video Gavin Purcell. Several Verge reporters and editors, including Lauren Goode, Casey Newton, Paul Miller, Ashley Carman, Jake Kastrenakes and Dan Seifert, will also join. The live shows will feature first looks at new and emerging technologies from the CES show floor, new product demos, interviews and roundtable discussions with technology experts and more. Vergecast Live at CES will also integrate live Twitter conversation utilizing Twitter polls and questions from the Twitter audience.

"Twitter conversation is always at the center of what's happening at CES every year," said Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter. "Our collaboration with Vox Media on these exclusive programs from The Verge will give our young and technology obsessed audience a unique broadcast from CES with live breaking news and expert analysis right on Twitter."

"The Vergecast, our flagship podcast, has become more popular than ever in the past few months," said Nilay Patel, Editor-in-Chief of The Verge. "We've broadcast live from CES for several years now, but we're excited to do something that feels new and native to the live Twitter video experience. But it's still the Vergecast, and it's still CES — it's going to be a little silly and a lot of fun no matter what."

The stream will be available globally at ces.twitter.com, in Twitter Moments and on @verge.

Vergecast Live at CES 2017 will also include opportunities for advertisers, including packages with television style mid-roll spots, combined with original clips produced by The Verge, available for sponsorship and promotion on Twitter.
