NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Living in Digital TimesLast Gadget Standing, now in its 16th year at CES, and Mobile Apps Showdown are now accepting nominations to separate the fads from the fantastic, and choose the most innovative technologies and apps from the thousands of products launched this year at CES® 2017.

Representatives with iHeartLocal pictured with Yahoo! Tech founder and event emcee David Pogue, celebrate after being named the Mobile Apps Showdown live event and online winner at CES 2016.

"Each year thousands of new products are launched at CES. Some thrive; others wither. We believe that the crowds can spot a winner when they see one, so we invite a selection of the top products at CES to strut their stuff while the audience votes (both online and in the audience)," said Robin Raskin, founder and president, Living in Digital Times.

Products entered into the competition reach an international community of expert judges, tech journalists, potential partners, investors and technophiles, who are some of the biggest names in their fields.

Last year's Last Gadget Standing live event winner was  VUZE 3D and 360° Camera the first consumer, portable 360° 3D VR camera and software studio that brings immersive content creation to the masses, while the online winner was awarded to The Ripple Maker, an IoT device that turns every cup of coffee into an extraordinary experience. Using coffee extract, the Ripple Maker creates stunning designs atop the foam of a cappuccino or latte, in a matter of seconds. Last year's Mobile Apps Showdown live event and online winner was iHeartLocal, providing small businesses with a free Customer Relationship System to help grow their business in three easy steps: connect, retain and reengage your current and new customers.

In addition to the judges, an online audience makes their voices heard by voting for the products they believe will endure the test of time. Finalists ultimately compete in a live presentation on Saturday, January 7. With roars and cheers of encouragement and excitement from the audience, the live event is a true celebration of all that is great in tech innovation today.

Returning for a second year to emcee is David Pogue, founder of Yahoo! Tech and a guy who knows a good gadget when he sees one.
