Haier, with five major research and development centers, 21 industrial parks and 24 manufacturing facilities strategically located across the globe, has been able to identify trends in user preferences when the trend is still in its infancy and provide solutions to meet the demand created by the growing preference. Haier's exhibits, which cover seven smart (or "u+") ecosystems: food, air, cleaning, water, security, entertainment and education, have garnered quite a bit of attention from industry experts and visitors.

At CES, Evan, a student from Columbus College of Art & Design, had the opportunity to experience three of Haier's model small living spaces, all of which house smart home appliances especially developed for use in small living spaces and targeted to young consumers who typically live in cramped quarters in any of the major cities across the United States.

Evan said: "Such a compact space could house so many home appliances. If my apartment accommodates such a suite of home appliances, I can cook, while using the wine cabinet for storing my favorite selection of wines."

At the show, Haier also displayed network-connected products across all seven u+ ecosystems. The smart home robot Ubot represented Haier's ideal solution for consumers already thinking about how the latest advances in technology can lend convenience to their day to day living and showcased the firm's latest milestone in smart manufacturing. Haier has become a major exhibitor at CES of made-in-China products especially designed and developed for global markets.

A spokesperson for Haier said that their exhibits at the CES are the results of a connected factory system which itself is the result of the firm's dedication to smart manufacturing. As a leading Chinese maker, Haier started to study smart manufacturing systems and the connected factory as early as 2012. The company has established seven connected factories and an interactive and open ecosystem consisting of businesses, users and best-in-class resources.
