Today's consumers are using their video screens in a wide variety of fashions to view content that includes linear television, time-shifted television, OTT television broadcasts, and online videos; play games, post to social media, or interact with others online. In order to address the ever-evolving viewing habits of TV audiences, the Skreens Plus2 and Skreens Plus4 devices allows users to merge multiple video streams from very disparate sources to be displayed on a single video monitor via a single HDMI connection.  Xilinx's Zynq®-7045 All Programmable SoC provides the requisite performance to support multiple high-performance, real-time videos from multiple sources to be displayed on a single screen that can be sized, resized, and positioned to best support the TV audience's viewing habits.

"The future of media will require intense video processing to handle the massive shift in how people use TVs, IoT devices, gaming, streaming and virtual reality," said Marc Todd, president and CEO of Skreens. "Xilinx's All Programmable technologies are uniquely qualified to provide those next-gen processing capabilities. Xilinx's solutions also provide the reconfigurability that enables Skreens to quickly develop and deploy solutions that meet the unique needs of specific markets, content providers, video operators and other companies."

"The Zynq application into the Skreens device validates Xilinx's long standing position as an All Programmable leader in the consumer electronics industry," said Robert Bielby, vice president of the consumer market business at Xilinx. "Skreens' incorporation of the Zynq device further validates how Xilinx's flexibility, performance, TTM, future proofing, and price point are well positioned for the consumer market."
