CASIO INTRODUCES VERSATILE, NEW PRO TREK TIMEPIECE
Geared for Outdoor Enthusiasts, New PRO TREK PRW3100Y Offers STN LCD Display, SUS Bezel and Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology

LAS VEGAS, January 5, 2017 – Today, Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce the newest model in its rugged and versatile PRO TREK line of outdoor timepieces – the PRW3100Y. Featuring a super-twisted nematic (STN) LCD display plus Casio’s next-generation Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology and Tough Solar Power, the PRW3100Y is a must-have accessory for adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The new PRW3100Y will be on display at CES 2017, the consumer electronics industry’s largest event, in Casio’s booth which is located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (#14106) from January 5-8, 2017.

“At Casio, we are constantly working to develop state-of-the-art timepieces that meet the wants and needs of our outdoor community,” said David Johnson, Vice President of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “Thanks to a thinner watch face and a variety of features geared for the outdoors, the PRW3100Y is the culmination of versatility and style for the ultimate outdoorsmen.”

Designed with a digital STN LCD, which requires less power than other LCDs, the PRW3100Y offers great visibility in highly bright or dark environments and has a full auto LED backlight which illuminates in the dark with just a tilt of the wrist. The PRW3100Y is 0.3mm thinner than its predecessor, the PRW-3000, and is outfitted with a resin strap and stainless steel bezel.

Equipped with Casio’s Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology, the PRW3100Y includes a direction sensor for compass readings, pressure sensor for altimeter/barometer readings and a thermo sensor. In addition, it comes equipped with Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology, which means that it automatically synchronizes with atomic clocks in the US, Germany, the UK, China and two in Japan based on the user’s home city setting to ensure the watch is displaying the correct time. The PRW3100Y also offers Casio’s Tough Solar Power technology, which eliminates the need for battery changes. After a full-charge, the timepiece has a battery life of approximately seven months without further exposure to light and a special Power Save feature that allows the timepiece to power down when not exposed to light for a certain period of time, helping to further conserve energy. This solar battery-powered timepiece can be charged even in low or fluorescent light. Other key features include:

  • Sunrise and sunset data
  • Water resistant up to 100 meters
  • Low temperature resistant (-10C/14F)
  • World TIME (48 cities + UTC)
  • Four daily alarms
  • 1/10 second stopwatch (1000hr)
  • Countdown timer (24hr)

The PRW3100Y will be available in Black and Khaki at select retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $320 in March 2017. For additional information on Casio’s PRO TREK series, please visit www.ProTrek.Casio.com.
