STOW, OH, January 9, 2018 — Audio-Technica is introducing its SonicSport wireless in-ear headphones with Bluetooth technology at CES 2018. The new ATH-SPORT70BT and ATH-SPORT50BT offer fitness-oriented features including a stay-in-place ear hook design, IPX5 waterproof-rated construction, built-in mic and controls for smartphone and portable device operation and more.
The ATH-SPORT70BT and ATH-SPORT50BT are on exhibit at CES 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth 20854, South Hall Lower Level (January 9 – 12, 2018).
Audio-Technica’s SonicSport ATH-SPORT70BT (SRP: US$129.00) features new 9 mm drivers with carbon-coated diaphragms that deliver exceptionally clear, powerful full-range wireless audio. A new, switchable ambient noise hear-through function (activated by touching the left earpiece) gives wearers the choice of hearing environmental sounds for safer use outdoors or
blocking them for more private listening. It includes an omnidirectional mic and controls that enable the listener to answer calls, adjust volume and handle playback of music and videos on compatible smartphones and other devices.
Available in black and rose gold, the ATH-SPORT70BT is IPX5 waterproof-certified, enabling it to be washed using running water after working out. Adding to their durability, the headphones are supplied with Comply™ foam eartips with SweatGuard™, along with XS, S, M and L-sized eartips. An internal rechargeable battery provides up to six hours of continuous use and can be recharged with the included 1-foot USB charging cable. The ATH-SPORT70BT comes with a convenient hard carrying case.
The SonicSport ATH-SPORT50BT (SRP: US$69.00) offers many of the features of the ATH-SPORT70BT including a comfortable ear hook design that keeps the headphones securely in place, a smartphone-compatible mic and controls that are built into the left earpiece, IPX5 waterproof construction and a rechargeable battery that offers up to six continuous hours of playing time. The ATH-SPORT50BT employs 9 mm drivers for detailed, impactful full-range audio and comes with two types of eartips: standard (XS, S, M, L) for maximum sound isolation and ridged (S, M, L), that allow some ambient noise to come through for safer outdoor listening. The ATH-SPORT50BT is available in black, blue, pink and yellow and is supplied with a USB charging cable and protective pouch.
The SonicSport ATH-SPORT70BT and ATH-SPORT50BT will be available in Spring 2018.
