Outstanding Sound, Convenience and Value: Audio-Technica’s AT-LP3 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable Debuts at CES 2017

STOW, OH, January 3, 2017 — At CES 2017 Audio-Technica is introducing its AT-LP3 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable, which combines outstanding sound quality with advanced features not typically found on automatic turntables.

“The new AT-LP3 makes true high-performance record playback easy and affordable, in an elegant design that complements any home entertainment system,” said Crystal Griffith, Audio-Technica U.S. Marketing Manager.

The Audio-Technica AT-LP3 provides fully automatic operation for 33-1/3 or 45 RPM – simply push the “Start” button and the AT-LP3 plays the record, and the tonearm returns to its armrest when the side is done playing. A hydraulically damped lift control also facilitates manual operation. The AT-LP3 comes with a pre-mounted AT91R Dual Moving Magnet phono cartridge for exceptional high-fidelity reproduction. The tonearm’s removable 1/2-inch mount universal headshell also gives listeners the option of installing a moving magnet or moving coil phono cartridge of their choosing. The AT-LP3 has a built-in phono preamp that enables it to be used with the widest range of home audio systems, powered speakers and other components. The preamp is switchable to accommodate either moving magnet or moving coil cartridges, a unique feature not found on most turntables with built-in phono preamps.

The AT-LP3 is constructed using anti-vibration damping materials that attenuate any low-frequency feedback and ensure pure, accurate, musically involving LP playback. Internal resonances are further reduced by the turntable’s die-cast aluminum platter and 4 mm elastomer damping mat. The AT-LP3’s DC servo-controlled motor and belt drive provide quiet operation with exceptional speed stability.

The AT-LP3 provides adjustments for optimum performance including tracking force and anti-skating. The turntable comes with a hinged dust cover, 45 RPM adapter and other accessories.

The Audio-Technica AT-LP3 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable will be available in black or white finishes in Spring 2017 at US$279.00.

At CES, Audio-Technica is also showcasing its AT-LP5 Direct Drive Turntable, a high-performance record player that combines audiophile-quality sound with elegant design. The AT-LP5 (US$449.00) comes with the new AT95EX cartridge and features a built-in phono preamp and USB output for transferring records to digital music files.
