Company introduces video highlighting advanced features of M3000 in workplace

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Vuzix® Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), ("Vuzix" or, the "Company"), a leading supplier of Smart-Glasses, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets, is pleased to announce that the Company will showcase its CES 2016 Innovation awards winner, the new M3000 Smart Glasses, at CES 2017. The Company's latest smart glasses product for enterprise and prosumer will be unveiled and operational at PEPCOM's Digital Experience from 7:00 to 10:30 pm on Wednesday, January 4, at the Mirage Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip; and then at the Vuzix booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall Booth #13246, from January 5 to 8, 2017.

Vuzix next-generation, enterprise-grade smart glasses, the Vuzix M3000 Smart Glasses, features advanced 2.0 mm thin see-thru waveguide optics and a custom high-contrast, full-color DLP "Cobra II" display engine. The M3000 Smart Glasses improve existing workflows and open new opportunities in industrial, medical, retail, supply chain, remote help desk, and other aspects of the user's business. The M3000 has been purpose-designed for commercial, professional, and enterprise users. The new M3000 design is based on a common core platform using the Intel Atom processor, which drives both the new Vuzix M300 and M3000 devices. It includes a monocular display and onboard processor, 64 gig of built-in memory, camera streaming and recording features, and wireless connectivity capabilities.

Vuzix M3000 provides most of the features and capabilities of a modern smartphone in a hands-free wearable device. Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity makes it ideal to pair with Android and iOS devices or connect wirelessly with Wi-Fi to the Internet. An integrated head tracking and GPS system provides apps with the user's location, as well as the direction and angle of the wearer's current view, for the situational awareness needed for many Augmented Reality applications. Voice, button press, and touch pad with gesture controls, along with an exterior that's ruggedized against water, dust, and dirt, give the user the versatility to navigate and use the M3000 in almost any working environment. The device also offers flexibility through the inclusion of enhanced battery packs for long/high-intensity users and lightweight batteries for low/infrequent users. The M3000 will be introduced by summer 2017.
