AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France, Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Technopole de l'Environnement Arbois-Méditerranée, the project planning and economic development flagship from the Aix-en-Provence region of Southwestern France, hosted a celebration of French Startups last week at CES.  The event took place Thursday afternoon at the Grande Lux Café in The Palazzo, just a short walk from the exhibit hall in the Sands Exposition Center, where all seven companies showcased their products.

Technopole was an active participant in SIC15, the Sustainable Innovation Forum which took place in December in Paris and drew heads of state from all the major world powers.  As part of the annual Conference of Parties (COP21) which focused on the worldwide impact of climate change, Technopole is committed to supporting, funding and investing in companies involved in the elimination of greenhouse gasses while fighting against and reducing global warming. 

 "Various regions of France are known for different forms of technology," said Technopole President Jean Marc Perrin.  "Companies based in Aix-en-Provence have emerged as champions of sustainable innovation … and each of the organizations represented at this reception are fully committed to that philosophy."

At the reception, each company demonstrated both their product lines and their focus on green technology.  Leading the way were Novadem and SP3H, widely recognized among the top innovators from the region. 

Novadem has developed a wide range of UAV/drone solutions dedicated to the professional market, and displayed their unique technology called LPS (Local Positioning System) at CES. LPS enables automatic navigation of UAV and data georeferencing in areas without GPS coverage.

SP3H, the creator of sensor technology innovation for eco-mobility, specializes in smart optical sensor solutions using Near-InfraRed Technology (NIR). Winners of the Frost & Sullivan 2015 Innovation Award, at CES 2016 they displayed their eco-sensors which can be used in any vehicle to reduce CO2 and other pollutant emissions.

Others participating in the reception included:

• Aroma Therapeutics, manufacturers of the world's first WiFi enabled essential oils diffuser;
• ECHY, a company which captures solar rays from building exteriors and, through fiber optic cabling, defuses sunlight through a building's interior reducing electricity usage during sunshine hours; 
• CustomerLabs, perhaps best described as a "Trip Advisor for the financial services industry;"
• Génés'ink, a conductor for the microelectronics anchor that replaces the use of scarce and non-renewable minerals; and
• Optis World/Genesis, a virtual prototyping company that brings CAD/CAM software and dedicated virtual immersive solutions for industrial projects to life.
