Intelematics' Club Connect App to be Included in Ford SYNC 3

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Motor Company, in conjunction with the AAA and CAA, today announced the inclusion of Intelematics' (http://www.intelematics.com/) Club Connect app in Ford SYNC 3 (http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/) for the North American market. The announcement was made at the 2016 International CES, currently being held in Las Vegas.

Club Connect, developed by Intelematics and first deployed by the Australian motoring clubs in 2014, has now been adopted by North America's leading auto clubs, the AAA and CAA, and is expected to be available on Ford's SYNC 3 system later this year.

Club Connect utilises a range of vehicle data including current location, fuel level and fuel consumption to deliver enhanced capabilities such as travel times, AAA and CAA Emergency Road Service, Drive Log, Live Parking and Live Fuel.

By connecting a smartphone with a compatible Ford vehicle, drivers can access these services through the vehicle's in-car dash system. The system can be operated using voice control commands, an element that helps to encourage the safer use of apps and services from telematics systems whilst on the move.

Club Connect provides added value to Ford drivers who are AAA and CAA Members with the inclusion of an Emergency Road Service function that recognises a problem with the vehicle and alerts the driver. The Member can use the Ford SYNC interface to request AAA or CAA assistance.

"Intelematics has developed the Club Connect app to deliver relevant motoring content to drivers in a safe and convenient way," said Adam Game, President and CEO, Intelematics North America.

"Club Connect is the type of high-value mobility app consumers now expect from their vehicle manufacturers. It is an example of how Intelematics is helping leading automotive clubs and manufacturers like Ford improve the driving experience for their customers."

Ford Motor Company and AAA will be discussing Ford SYNC 3 and Club Connect at Ford's booth #2122 at CES (http://www.cesweb.org/). For more information on Intelematics visit www.intelematics.com, and for information on Ford SYNC visit www.ford.com/technology/sync.
